If you weren't a DJ, what would you be?
A soundtrack advisor…the person who finds the perfect song to go in a scene of “Grey’s Anatomy”…I can’t think of a better dream job.
Favorite bands/artists?
Too many to list them all.  While I love all the stuff we play, my favs would have to be the artists that INFLUENCED the artists you hear on Y98.  To give you a musical cross-section, I’d say:
• Otis Redding and Stevie Wonder – you wouldn’t have anyone singing with soul in their voice if it weren’t for these two.
• The Replacements – Paul Westerberg can write a song about heartache like no other, and then turn around and write a great rock song.  They’re one of the Goo Goo Dolls’ biggest inspirations.
• The Pixies – Kurt Cobain always said he was trying to write a Pixies song when he wrote “Smells Like Teen Spirit”.  I can’t imagine being in the position to influence such an influential band, you know?
• I’m always a sucker for a ground-breaking female artist: Liz Phair, PJ Harvey, Imogen Heap are just a few who sounded like no one else when they first came out.
What was your favorite moment in radio?
Watching the Hugh Grant/Drew Barrymore film “Music and Lyrics”, I totally related to the moment when Drew’s sister meets the band she LOVED as a kid.  When I was a teenager, I was in love with INXS – especially the drummer, Jon Farriss.  Last year when they toured with J.D. Fortune (their new lead singer), I got to go backstage before the show.  Someone from their record label went up to the drummer and told him how much I loved him.  He proceeded to walk across the room, grabbed my hand to pull me forward and gave me a kiss on the cheek.  I kept thinking that my 12-year-old self would’ve DIED if that had happened back then.  It was one of those moments where you want to go back in time and tell your insecure, teenage self to just bear with the awkward teen years because everything will be okay…and you’ll get a kiss from the cute boy in the band!!!
If you could slap one person, who would it be?
Lindsay Lohan or Britney Spears – they’re the two people who try their hardest to trip themselves up.  I just want to slap some sense into them.  They are both at the proverbial fork in the road where they can either be successful and creative for years to come, or they can bring on their ultimate demise.  The choice is theirs…and it seems to blatantly obvious to everyone who’s on the outside looking in on their lives.
Favorite Star Wars Character?
Princess Leia, for sure.  When I was growing up, my hair was long enough to put the big Princess Leia buns on the sides of my head.  I think I even have the picture to prove it!
Favorite Web Sites?
Some of my favorites are the ones I go to to get entertainment news for the “Schmig” every day…People.com, PerezHilton.com, HollywoodRag.com, PageSix.com….My favorite is GoFugYourself.com – hilarious commentary on awful celebrity fashions…and I also have to read GreysWriters.com every Friday morning after Grey’s Anatomy!

What is your guilty pleasure?
I have tons of “America’s Next Top Model” episodes saved on my TiVo…I watch them as I’m on the treadmill to push myself.  I could also eat chocolate every day and be happy (see why I need ANTM?!?!)
What is your favorite cartoon character?
When I was growing up, I loved Josie and the Pussycats…I always wanted to be in a band (and apparently, wear a leopard leotard!)
What is the sexiest word in the English Language?
Two words: Snooze Button
